What an amazing project. When jewellery big shot John Hardy watched a movie from Al Gore about the climate change, he was worried. So, it made him thinking about how to contribute to finding solutions. 10 years ago he was founding Green School, 30 minutes south of Ubud, a place for the young generation to learn some more and maybe some more important things than on usual schools. His goal was to enable a generation to find solutions for some of the pressing problems. We went there and had a tour, the place is awesome. Totally green, all set up by bamboo that has grown in 5 years only. Compost toiletts, cleaned water, almost off grid (energy wise). Kids from all over the world are invited to study, to come up with projects (like bikes made out of bamboo). Balinese kids can come without paying, but they have to bring 5 kg of plastic waste, not bad. Importantly, what I have learned here, was: There is always so much room for good ideas, you just have to come up with them!
