“Wow! This looks fantastic!
I have never seen anything like this before. Simply from another planet!”

Hans Strand, who took the birch bark’s image, mailed us.

Our big edition comes at 35 x 50 cms (13,7 x 19,6 in), almost 500 pages bound as never seen hardcover with a very special front cover inlay, see below. The materials used to fit it are FSC papers, cloths, real bark, cotton and moss. The book comes including a sophisticated book stand consisting in 10 parts, no screws needed for an easy mounting within minutes.

The coffee table edition

The open spine trade edition book (lettering on the spine will be silk screening, this is rendered to give an idea)

The coffee table edition (or how we call it “trade edition” is half the size of the big one. 25 x 35 cm (9,8 x 13,7 in) in portrait format. It is an open spine book, which is making it very stylish, the title is done in silk screening going over all them threads. The cover image (also Hans Strand’s Birch Bark is printed on a fancy cotton like paper and glued onto the cover. The book has 540 pages + endpapers. There are more pages because both editions aren’t totally identical, due to image resolutions and the advantage of the smaller format to have more of the images in full crop, what didn’t work out in the huge edition.
Here some key features:

Except from being stylish/modern, the open spine allows the book to be opened totally flat. Images that go over the fold look great!

A handy book. Even when already a big book, it is still more a book rather than a furniture that needs a special book stand. It is comfortable to flip through it.

Not too big. Goes very well as a gift!

Pricing. You can either obtain the book and it’s transport box alone or including a nice display box; also for the gift option the trees box works out very well.

Get three, keep one. One of the rewards is also a combination of both, giving two as gifts and keeping one wonderful book to yourself. These editions will never be reprinted in these fittings, nor a publisher will take it over on stock. Once Kickstarter ends, a one time production starts. There might be a more common version of the book with a publisher later, that goes to the bookshops, but no collector’s edition.

It will be shipped within the transport box, that keeps the book safe — even on bumpy roads.

As for the interior design and the choice of images, we also have prepared some previews for you, just a few. The choices are all done, the images are all treated, the overall design is completed — so here comes the preview, please understand that we didn’t activate the lightbox mode to enlarge them, due to copyright reasons (© of each image is with the artist). The books are around 500 pages, therefore this is just a random choice showing the wide range of perspective:
